Roles:
o Develop code under the direction of a software team leader.
o Represent the software group in one or more new product development
teams.
o Offer niche leadership in one or more areas (i.e. templates, threads,
algorithms, design patterns, install programs, etc.)
o Work on previously released code for bug fixes and enhancements.
Environment:
o Windows Application Development using Visual Studio C# w/WPF,
MVVM
o Dell PCs 8GB RAM, dual LCD monitors 19" & 24"
o Offices with real walls, yet with open (loft) ceiling.
People:
o Other exceptional software engineers that are willing to help.
o Electrical, Mechanical, and Analytical engineers and scientists
who take the time to explain their needs.
o Supportive management that first held development positions
o Weekly group lunches and occasional cross training sessions provide
an opportunity for stronger relationships.
Responsibilities:
o Learn how we have solved similar problems in the past before reinventing
a solution.
o Be willing to suggest new approaches.
o Quickly develop solid code and be responsive to any concerns or
complaints from anyone.
o Write clear e-mails to other groups to explain new features, acknowledge
bugs, and solicit additional information.
Application Requirements:
o Control hardware through analysis cycle including the implementation
of predictive control algorithms.
o Perform data collection in a similar fashion, sometime supporting
3MB/sec and higher compressed data streams.
o Perform data analysis, baseline correction, peak finding, de-convolution,
and other chemometrics.
o Present data in grids, graphs, plots, and 3D visualizations
Products:
