Job Description:
Provide technical computer support to company employees over the
telephone or in person. Candidate will be required to determine
the nature of the problem, analyze issues accordingly and resolve
the issue or escalate if required in a timely manner. This individuals
prime responsibility is to ensure that the company's 600+ locations
receive a very high level of service from the I.T. Help Desk, thereby
minimizing disruptions to their daily operations.
This individual must possess excellent communication and customer
service skills required for effective, courteous and professional
management of inquiries, problems and assistance requests from company
Profit Centers. He/she must have the ability to make decisions quickly
and independently without direct supervision.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent Customer Service and inter-personal skills.
- Network troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating systems and applications
(XP and 2003 server).
- Knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware/software,
printers and communication devices.
- Internet and e-mail troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of anti-virus, anti-spam applications.
- Ability to learn other hardware and software as they become pertinent
to the business needs.
- Organizational skills sufficient to ensure all calls are logged
and follow-up is complete.
- Basic knowledge of Net modules and applications.
- Basic knowledge of SPEAKS.
- Basic knowledge of CMS.
- Basic knowledge of Profit Center back office and paper flow.
- Must possess ability to work under pressure.
- Must possess ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Essential Job Requirements:
- High level of proficiency to read, write and communicate orally
the English language, especially I.T. technical terms and concepts.
- Ability to train, in person or over the phone, technical subjects
to users/students using the English language.
- Ability to develop technical documentation, procedures and training
materials.
- Advanced math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division, percentages, ratios, discounts/multipliers and probabilities.
- Ability to type on a computer and use a ten-key calculator at
a rate of at least 50 words per minute.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to set-up and operate a personal computer, printers and
external computer peripherals.
- Extensive knowledge of computer applications and conceptually,
how they work.
- Ability to answer telephones and provide courteous, prompt and
efficient customer service.
- Ability to organize multiple work tasks and prioritize them to
meet specific deadlines.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work assigned shifts this position has non-flexible
scheduling.
- Ability to meet or exceed attendance standards for a customer-service,
fixed shift position.
- Ability to meet or exceed call-answering quantity and quality
standards.
- Ability to persuade people to follow company process and procedures.
- Ability to handle potentially inflammatory situations.
