Job Summary/Purpose:
To develop and direct the Sanitation program and to insure that
all current Food Safety Standards are being met throughout the site.
To train and develop all sanitation employees to be able to identify
and control GMP issues and to enforce all current food safety standards.
Working Relationships: The Sanitization Manager shall communicate
in a clear and professional manner any Sanitation issues with the
Plant Manager, Quality Manager, Maintenance Manager, Business Unit
Manager, Shipping Manager, All Line Foreman, and Sanitation Staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Food Safety
The Plant Sanitation Manager shall enforce that all elements of
Food Safety within the plant are being met.
2. General Knowledge
The Plant Sanitation Manager must have a good understanding of
commercial bakeries and bakery equipment and have an understanding
of the functionality of ingredients in the bakery process and how
it relates to possible insect development.
3. Cleaners and Materials
The Plant Sanitation Manager will be responsible for ensuring that
all chemicals used in the plant are approved for such use and that
all chemicals have current MSDS information on site.
a. Will be responsible for the chemical training at their plant
and to insure that all training documentation is current.
b. Will be responsible for the control of plant sanitation supplies
from the ordering to the proper use of the item.
4. Chemical Testing
The Sanitation Manager will be responsible for the dilution testing
of all chemicals needing diluted. The testing equipment will be
provided by the chemical supplier and the tests will be performed
by the chemical supply company. The Sanitation Manager must be involved
in the testing and must record the results of the tests. These dilution
tests must be conducted monthly.
5. Line Cleanup and Inspection
The Plant Sanitation Manager must be able to develop and train
all steps of each plant cleanup. All cleanups must be completed
in a timely manner with all food safety concerns in mind. The Plant
Sanitation Manager along with the Quality Manager will be responsible
for the training of all staff members conducting line equipment
inspections and will follow up to insure program integrity.
a. Will be responsible for developing and directing the Master Cleaning
schedule.
b. Will communicate with all plant team members all required work
needed to be completed by each area.
c. Will be responsible for the follow up and proper training of
each task.
d. Review the master cleaning schedules and revise once a year or
as needed due to plant changes, (new lines, different equipment,
etc.)
e. Review cleanup sheets once a year or as needed due to line changes.
6. Internal GMP Audits
The Plant Sanitation Manager along with the Food Safety Team will
conduct a monthly GMP audit of the entire site. The Sanitation Manager
will follow up on all findings related to the Sanitation Department.
7. Pest Control
The Plant Sanitation Manager will be responsible for the pest control
program. The manager will meet with the service technician weekly
and follow up on any findings that are brought to our attention
by the technician. The Sanitation Manager will be responsible for
insuring that all related pest control reports are correct and current.
$45,000 to $50,000 per year, depending on experience

No jeans are allowed.
WHITE SHIRTS only must be worn.
Shirts MUST be tucked in.
Absolutely NO jewelry (except wedding ring).
No nail polish or acrylic nails.
Must be clean cut - no facial hair allowed.
Must wear a hair net (provided by the company).
